All I ever wanted to do was sing. My dream was to be Steven Curtis Chapman. I mean how amazing would that be? To make great music that inspires and ministers to millions of people? Cool. Unfortunately, not all dreams come true. God meant for Steven to be Steven and Shawn to be Shawn. This Ain't OZ
The Yellow Brick Road is paved with hopes and dreams, but the journey is the real payoff. I try not to get so caught up in circumstances that I miss the adventure. The Road that Leads To Heaven
As Steven Curtis Chapman wrote...

"There's no better place on earth than the road that leads to Heaven."

Somewhere along the road of my life, I discovered how true that is.  And early on, my idealistic view of life and love got squashed. And in some ways I've felt a lot like Dorothy— dreaming that my place in this world was more like that place over the rainbow. I haven't lost that idealistic passion, but I've also grown to understand love is a choice that requires brains, heart and courage.

Creative License

I've always been creative in one way or another. Either singing, or acting or coming up with some big idea. Writing songs, plays, poems, or totally spontaneous dissertations on life, love and the ideal relationship seemed to fill my days. There was an unharnessed, undisciplined outpouring of energy that I miss badly these days.

However, my introduction to personal computers in the early nineties uncovered a whole new world for me— Graphic Design. I had never been particularly good or intersted in traditional art, but I found very quickly that I understood the principles and practices of this medium in a very natural way. It was almost as if God turned on some switch in me that had been off all of my life. It has been a new world ever since.

Daddy-Oh!

I am most blessed by my wife. She calls me Daddy, just because our daughters are always nearby. That's just who I am now— Daddy.

My precious bride, Danetta, is so amazing. First of all, she's managed to survive me for almost 18 years. She is a great mom, and even though she would not confess it, she is encouraging and supportive in her own unique way.

We have two fantastically gorgeous daughters (who, I thankfully acknowledge, get their beauty from their mother).

Deidre is 13 and is very interested in art. She loves video games, anything Indiana Jones,  and can't wait to drive (she wants a Mini Cooper).

Dharma is 7 and will surely be a stand-up comic when she grows up. Unlike her older sister, she is very outgoing and is always saying something terrifically hilarious. She takes karate and loves to play dress up.
